Y’all know I’m a sucker for a good survey, and Katie and Erika tagged me in their 11 Random Facts post, so here are the rules!
Rules (for bloggers)
1. Post these rules.
2. You must post 11 random things about yourself.
3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post.
4. Create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.
5. Go to their blog and tell them that you’ve tagged them.
6. No stuff in the tagging section about ‘you are tagged if you are reading this.’ blah blah blah, you legitimately have to tag 11 people!
11 random things about me? I’ve already done something kind of like this, so if you want random facts, here you go.
I’m taking a few of Katie’s questions and a few of Erika’s questions to answer!
1. What is your favorite movie?
I love West Side Story, Pretty in Pink, and Breathless. I’m a sucker for musicals (Jesus Christ Superstar is another good one!
2. What is your biggest pet peeve?
I could write a whole book about my pet peeves, but people that lack self-awareness just kill me (that includes people that drive slowly and walk slowly!)
3. What is your favorite indulgent food that you would eat everyday if nutritional facts didn’t matter?
A pan of rich, gooey brownies topped with a gallon of coffee ice cream and toffee bits. Can you tell I’ve thought about this before?
4. What aisle of the supermarket do you spend the most time in?
Dairy (for the yogurt) or freezer (for the ice cream.) There are so many choices!
5. If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what would it be?
17 for sure. I miss being 17 more than anything- I had pretty much zero responsibility and I was finally starting to mature.
6. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?
I would sneak on a plane and fly somewhere that I could never afford to fly otherwise and upon landing, steal a bunch of money for my return ticket. Joking about the stealing part. Kind of.
7. If your house went up in flames and you had time to take with you only 1 possession before evacuating, what would that possession be?
I feel like I’m jinxing myself by answering this! Assuming my family and bird do not count as my possessions, I would my parents’ computer because it has a lot of our old pictures and home videos on it. If I were to be pragmatic, I would take my mini filing cabinet full of all my important documents!
(I just wanted an excuse to put a picture of my bird in here.)
8. If you were to participate in a food eating contest, which food would it be?
I would be lying if I said I haven’t fantasized about this before… now that I’ve eaten an 18 inch pancake and killed my love for anything that even looks like a pancake, I’m positive I would be awesome at either a pie-eating contest or an ice-cream eating contest. If anyone knows of these contests going on… hit a sister up. I have zest, enthusiasm, and the stomach capacity of a professional eater.
9. What do you spend most of your money on?
School, gas, car, groceries. I also used to have a slight obsession with buying aprons on eBay…
10. What is your favorite smell?
Butter and sugar melting together, brownies baking, or fresh laundry.
11. If you could witness any event, past, present, or future, what would it be?
Just one?! So tough! Either Lincoln delivering the Emancipation Proclamation, MLK delivering his “I Have a Dream” speech, or the Constitutional Convention… but probably Neil Armstrong walking on the moon because that would mean I would actually get to be on the moon!

Your turn- answer any one (or all!) of the questions! I LOVE reading other people’s answers!

Oh no! In almost perfect timing, I just tagged you in this too! I have internally debated about the ability to fly versus the ability to freeze time too. I have finally reached the conclusion that I would prefer to be able to fly because it could always come in handy. Because on the other hand, I have such problems with timing, that I wouldn’t be able to realize what moment I wanted to freeze until it would be too late. The ability to turn back time and then freeze might be a better competition to flying..
Thank you for tagging me! I don’t know if I’ll get to it, as I’ve been tagged in similar members by a half-dozen people in recent months, but hopefully I will soon! It’s really nice that you thought of me
Loved your answers. The one about favourite aroma got me to thinkin’!
Thanks so much for the tag – I think I’ve accumulated three of them now!
It’s such a strange coincidence that you mentioned West Side Story – I was lecturing about that yesterday (I’m co-teaching a module called Shakespeare Recycled which examines adaptations beyond the medium of theatre – West Side Story being particularly complex as it’s a film adaptation of a musical appropriation of Romeo & Juliet…okay, I’ll stop boring you now). The students weren’t too keen on it but they’re all obsessed with the DiCaprio film so they probably bore a grudge against WSS to start with
xxx
I love musicals too!! My favorite is Mamma Mia. It’s way better on broadway though! My favorite smell is a barbecue. I love when I smell the neighbors grilling or the scent that comes from our own barbecues!
Thanks for the tag! Although I just did this last week, not sure if I could manage going through it again
I’m definitely an introvert and summer is by far my favorite season
Ooh, the fly/freeze time one is so hard! At first I though “fly, without doubt” – but freezing time?? Aargh, I know why you got stressed trying to decide!
Oh, and I’d stay 17 too; there was something about it
I don’t know why, but I totally love these random facts posts! I have a sweet spot in my heart for classic musicals, but I’m making my way into the more current ones now…a couple of months ago, my friend convinced me to watch the new rendition of The Producers and I really liked it…after it got past the first 15 or so minutes (geez, slow start would be an understatement).
My favorite book is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers…it’s a love story by a Christian author based on the biblical story of Hosea. It’s a pretty thick book and I’m a slow reader, but I finished it in like 2 1/2 days!
I have definitely thought of baby names before…but only girls names…guess I’m screwed if I ever have a boy, huh? My favorite is Bailey Marie <3
No question about it, I would totally freeze time! Think of it this way, if you can freeze time, you could basically have enough time to configure some sort of way to fly…then you get the best of both worlds! Haha!
Loved reading your 11 facts, Kate! Your bird is so pretty – I love her colors!
Wooo I love your answers!! I love Jesus Christ Superstar too! It’s AWESOME!!
1. Thanks for the tag, lady!
2. This is me being selfish, but what are the chances we could have weekly bird snaps? I think that he’s absolutely hysterical.
Oh I could spend hours in the baking and spice isle. So many things to choose from and so many ideas come to me there. love hearing your answers to these questions
Love this post! Such a great way to find out more about my fave bloggers!
Haha, I enjoyed reading this. Always love to see pictures of your cute little bird!
I’m with Heather – I totally love these random fact posts! I love getting to know bloggers beyond what they eat and how they workout. As for your answers, I’m a huge sucker for musicals. HUGE. And if I could I would totally be 17 again. It’s the perfect age! Oh and thanks for the tag! I’m looking forward to sharing my own randomness in a post this week!
west side story and pretty in pink are both amazing movies!! Although Id have to throw in 10 things I hate about you as well. Heath Ledger is flawless in that movie
I love random facts posts!
Hmm, I’ll answer some (since its 2PM and I cleaned today, this is my chance to be lazy for a few minutes haha)
My favorite book is Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger. My favorite subject in school has always been History, and my degree ended up with a European History concentration, although I’m most fascinated with 20th century European history. I also love English, but prefer media studies over classics because I’m really bad at analyzing literature.
I have thought about future children’s names even though I’m not sure if I ever want children. I prefer classic but quirky names I guess. For girls I love the names Violet, Cecilia, Autumn, Caroline, Madeleine, and Iris. For boys I love the names Benjamin, Roman, Oliver, and August.
I don’t know what city I would pick in to live the rest of my life. Practically speaking, I probably would remain in the northeast because I am really an east coast girl at heart. My eternal debate is between Boston and New York City. I lived in New York City for a year and loved it, but I honestly can see myself in Boston long-term because of the history and its much more manageable (you can have a car, raising a family, etc.) If I was being impractical, I would pick Paris in a heartbeat. I’ve only been there once but I fell in love with it instantly. I would actually probably learn to speak French fluently if I could pick a language. I can speak it and read it sort of, but I wish I was fluent in it although its probably not the most practical language!
Something weird that no one would know just by looking at me? Hmm, I have a lot of quirky aspects to my personality but probably that I’m really weird about people touching me even though I hug every person I know all the time when I greet them. Its really weird, haha.
Autumn is by far my favorite season! Its one of the top five reasons I could probably never move away from the northeast
haha that was fun, hope I didn’t bore you
We are a lot alike! My bird is named Zooey after the character in the story
How fun! I love that you would do an eating competition!
Oopsies, I just saw this!! I just posted 11 things on my blog yesterday from another fellow blogger tag, but I definitely want to answer your 11 questions too! I have them saved and will answer them in my next post. I am SO down with the giant pan of brownies covered in coffee ice cream!
