New Semester and Kitchen Organization

Fastest six weeks of my life! Another school semester started today. Ugh. I keep reminding myself how lucky I am that I get to go to school, so hopefully that will stop my bitching and moaning about the work load.

The weather this weekend was amazing. It rained on Friday night and Saturday morning, so I stayed in my pajamas until noon while I listened to the rain and organized the kitchen.

It took SO long, but I actually like doing stuff like this once in a while. My family hoards food like crazy, so the cupboards are packed.

In case of an earthquake or zombie attack, we have enough pasta to last for months. Too bad we won’t be able to cook it. Crunch, crunch.

I organized my grains, flours, and other “Kate” food onto my own little shelf. I need cuter containers.

I also took control of the baking section and organized my muffin liners. My mom got this idea from Pinterest- nifty, huh?

The rest of the weekend was spent running, hiking, and relaxing. I only worked at one job last week, but I’m working at both every day this week on top of starting school. Good timing!

Is your kitchen organized or a disaster?

Fun fun! Organizing always makes me feel better! Jealous of your hiking and running this past weekend; it was wayy too cold to do anything outside here. Good luck with your first week back at school!

Kudos to you! It all looks great!

  3. Errign says:

I LOVE organizing things! Like, loveeeeeeee.

My semester starts on Monday. No bueno.

My kitchen looks fairly organized. I like to believe that if I can see where everything is, then I’m more likely to use it/enjoy it.

  5. …and according to your dad, combined the salt with the sugar! HAHAHA love it!

  6. Good luck with the start of school again! Also…will you come and organize my pantry?!? It’s a mess!

  7. My kitchen was a huge disaster and so unorganized. I had a minor cleaning freak-out a couple of weeks ago and got everything into shape. It sounds funny, but I think it makes cooking soooooooo much more enjoyable.

  8. I weirdly like organizing my pantry too!

My kitchen has two speeds. I’m either ultra organized with everything in its place or the kitchen looks like a bomb has gone off and waiting for the recovery team to arrive.

My ex-husband (you’ll soon see why he’s my ex) used to spend a day every month or two and he would organize my pantry for me. alphabetically. I kid you not. I’d roll my eyes and put the vanilla on a shelf in front of my eyes so I wouldn’t miss it and then all hell would break loose. “V goes on the bottom shelf, Maureen!!”

One day I decided the Ben needed to live with his own pantry. :)

  10. My kitchen has to be organised or it would be a total disaster area! I have extra boxes under the counter to fit all of the weird stuff I hoard! I’m definitely in need of a good clear out though!

  11. Tara says:

My kitchen is pretty disastrous because we hoard too!! We recently had a bug problem though and had to throw out a ton of food. We were actually really happy to have an excuse!

  12. Bleh, school! I feel the same way and keep convincing myself that I’m lucky to get an education. Our kitchen is somewhat organized. My roommate and I seriously need to go through our pantry and do some organization. Maybe this weekend!

  13. My kitchen is a complete disaster! I share a very small one with my housemate and we both like cooking.

Nicely organized! I love to organize areas, the kitchen is no exception. Last summer I thought I would be nice and organize my parents’ kitchen for them… Apparently, they like their chaos the way it is.
