WIAW and Internet Blackouts

The week is going by fast, huh? Time for What I Ate Wednesday!

Chocolate pudding oats were on the menu for breakfast today.

I realized that it’s cheaper to buy almond butter from Costco than it is to make my own, but the brand they sell there kind of tastes like glue. I doctored it up by adding molasses and spices to it- much better.

Lunch was my favorite salad- doesn’t really look appetizing when it’s all mixed up, huh?

Snacks of the afternoon were yogurt and an apple-

as well as one of Mama Pea’s pumpkin protein bars. Mmm, these were good!

I made a smoothie for dinner tonight- feels so good on a sore throat. Being sick doesn’t really faze me anymore. When you work with kids, you’re bound to be sick at least a few times a year (in my case, it’s usually once a month) Just part of the territory!

My sister showed me this link earlier- in case you’re suffering from the SOPA / PIPA blackout and need to brush up on some knowledge only Wikipedia can provide…

A Day’s Worth of Facts to Get You Through Wikipedia’s 24 Hour Blackout

Thank goodness, I totally forgot what a triangle was.

What do you think of the SOPA / PIPA blackout?

  1. I love your chocolate pudding oats! Look delicious! :)

  2. Melie says:

The SOPA/PIPA acts are quite important actually and can change the way we utilize and access the internet. And not for the better. Might be professional vice but I spent the best of my day reading articles on the subject today. My work kind of went down the drain, but I can always say it was for research right? ;-)

  3. Britt @ runwithbritt says:

Im sorry you are feeling under the weather. Defiantly not fun at all. Hopefully your smoothie will kick your cold to the curb!

  4. Julie says:

Did you save pumpkin for the protein bars cause I can’t seem to find any!

  5. Maureen says:

Hope you feel better and yes I blacked orgasmicchef.com out for SOPA.

  6. Chocolate pudding oats look fab! We are only getting bits about the whole thing over here, I just can’t see how they can censor the web!

  7. Lexie says:

Oh, yum, how do you make that gorgeous looking pudding oats, my dear?

  8. Maybe I should have had a green smoothie for dinner.

  9. Sarah says:

mmm i think i need to make me some mama peas pumpkin protein bars!

  10. I think the blackout was a great way to raise awareness… I was blown away by how many people I knew who didn’t even know about SOPA/PIPA. That is some seriously scary stuff and people really need to educate themselves and take action!!

  11. big salads never look that great but always taste amazing!! I really want to try making those protein bars..every mama pea recipe I make is always a winner!

  12. Sarah says:

I loooove carrot cake kroger brand yogurt! So delicious!

  13. Hannah says:

That protein bar looks more like a brownie or blondie. Sounds yummy though!
I think it’s important to know what SOPA is, and get involved, but I haven’t been doing much on the signing petitions online front. Laziness? Yeah.
    Get well soon!

  14. I love chocolate oats – I’m most definitely having that for breakfast tomorrow!

  15. Kat says:

I think that the day of awareness was huge, especially because of the extremely negative ramifications it could have for internet users. I’m glad that Congress is going to take more time to study the most effective way to limit intellectual property theft.

  16. Tara says:

I never thought to buy AB or PB or any nut butter for that matter at costco. I’ll definitely look next time!
I support the blackout, but I wasn’t a fan when I needed it to do my spanish homework. I like having the option to read the entries in spanish so I don’t have to translate it myself!
