1. I woke up to cool, cloudy weather and didn’t die of heat stroke like I predicted I would
2. I didn’t have to take any walking breaks
3. I found my favorite granola on sale and it made an awesome pre-run breakfast
4. I actually enjoyed running for the first time in months
5. My Disney Pandora station was especially cooperative today
6. I finally had a reason to eat the mini Clif bar that I’ve been hoarding for two and a half months
7. I was in a ridiculously good mood for some reason
8. I remembered both of my socks this time
9. The rain that started during the last half of my run kept me nice and cool (I actually don’t like running in the rain- trying to stay positive here
)
10. I had the day off work and got to run in the morning instead of the afternoon
11. Because I will be eating a bowl of frozen yogurt that looks very similar to this in a few hours
And the best reason….
12. I ran in the double digits for the first time in 10 weeks!
Twelve slow, steady, glorious miles done! I felt like I borrowed someone else’s body and attitude for the run. I was in a great mood and never contemplated cutting my run short like I usually do.
I got home, looked at my training schedule, and realized that I was supposed to run SEVEN miles today instead of twelve! Um, my bad. I guess next week will be a much shorter run
Running in the rain- love it or hate it?

Wow great job girl!! You killed that run. Froyo would motivate me pretty well too
Sahweet! congrats girl! on every bit of it! =) big and small
That is awesome! Way to stay positive! I’ve been missing outdoor runs but the heat has just been killer!!
congrats on your awesome training run! I haven’t gone into the double digits in ages. I love those long runs though! Frozen yogurt is the best way to celebrate a job well done.
I like running in the rain when it’s hot out. when it’s cold and you get all wet it’s terrible! I’ve also gone running in hail. Most painful run ever.
I’m pretty sure I love all of these reasons 11/10. I may have to make my own list when the feeling strikes.
Awesome!!! I do actually like running in the rain. Never thought I’d say that, but I do. Especially when it’s hot out
Nice job!
Sounds like such a great start to the day!! So glad the run was excellent!
Lovin the cooler weather! Can we keep it, please?? I actually love running in the rain (unless I didn’t plan for it and have my ipod, then it makes me nervous my electronics are going to die). I feel like it distracts me from the run..and makes me feel faster:)
Great job! I tried running in the rain once and it was pretty miserable. I just felt like I was going to slip the whole time.
I posted on this a couple of weeks ago cause I dreaded running in the rain but I had to push myself to go out and it wasn’t as bad as I thought!
Oh yeah for you girl. I know that felt great to you and good thing we remembered both our socks:). I love running the rain- it is so refreshing and free
Nice running, lady! I love runs like that
I actually don’t mind running in the rain, as long as it’s not totally pouring or monsooning out. I find it kind of calming!
Ohhh I am not a fan of running in the rain. A drizzle sure but full out rain no thank you. I think it is because mid run I am so cold and I despise wet socks!
Not so much running in the rain but I love running in drizzle.
Congrats on your running! Enjoy your fro-yo!!
And have a great weekend!
I don’t LOVE running in the rain, but it does make me feel like a total badass. I imagine here in Asheville though, when it rains I’m going to love it because it will cool off a bit! Congrats on the 12
Disney Pandora?! I need to get on that immediately!
How funny that you did twelve when you were supposed to do seven. That’s a sign that you’re a true runner!
Brilliant that you enjoyed it! That’s the best feeling when you realise you’ve done more like that
Way to go on the run!! I am finding that the more I run, not only do I like it more, but I get better at it – I don’t start out too fast – wow, 12 miles – maybe someday I’ll do that!
Have an awesome weekend!
Nice job on the long run! I haven’t done one in ages– but I was a little burnt out after my half marathon in March.
Disney Pandora station!? Why didn’t I think of that!? I’m making one as we speak

Great job on the long run and good luck with marathon training! Isn’t it awesome what the power of positive thinking can do for us?!
Ive actually only ran in the rain a few times. Only one time in the pouring rain and i LOVED IT.. i was in a great mood and almost done with my run so it was fun. However, I dont think i could ever get myself to go OUT on a run when it is already raining!
