Happy What I Ate Wednesday!
It has been a seriously long time since I’ve been grocery shopping. Since I’m out of yogurt and oats (the horror!) I thought ahead last night and made pancakes! It felt weird to be cooking pancakes at night, but I was sooooo glad this morning to have them already made.
I made wheat bran applesauce pancakes and topped it with Katie’s cheesecake sauce (also made last night.) It was delicious!
I had a green smoothie to cool off when I got home from work. I can’t remember the last time I had something other than a smoothie for lunch!
I made a batch of cookies and cream cashew butter for Tara and finished off whatever didn’t fit in the jar. HOLY NUT BUTTER OVERLOAD.
I snacked on grapes before working out. I am running dangerously low on fruit!
I biked to the post office and the gym in the afternoon. I am loving traveling by bike!
I had leftover quinoa salad on spinach and broccoli with hummus for dinner. The hummus was from Trader Joe’s- white bean basil, yum!
Dessert is always necessary.
I made Katie’s voluminous ice cream and added cocoa powder and coffee grounds to it. It was delicious! Not quite ice cream-like because my blender can’t handle ice too well, but tasty nonetheless
I topped it with granola I won from Chelsey‘s giveaway. I stopped buying granola because I eat it way too fast, but it keeps finding me!
Do you ever make breakfast ahead of time?

i make protein waffles and freeze them for busy mornings!
I made Katie’s ice cream tonight too….sooooo good!
Ooh, I have to try that ice cream! My vita and me have been neglecting each other because my apartment is freezing
I rarely make breakfast early because most of what I eat for breakfast tastes best fresh. The only exception would be when we have someone staying over and I make muffins the night before.
Awww you’re so sweet!! And lol I almost always make breakfast the night before… because when I’m hungry, I don’t wanna wait!
Aww the jar you put the nut butter in is SO cute
I usually don’t make breakfast ahead of time. I tried the overnight oats thing and I really don’t like them cold. I’d rather make it right before I eat it.
That TJ basil hummus is awesome!
I make breakfast ahead of time when it’s overnight oats or if I’m re-heating a muffin creation. Usually I just get it started while I shower though.
Tara is so lucky!
I never make breakfast ahead of time because I don’t know what I will feel like having (not that I have such a huge variety but still) and because it never takes more than five minutes to prepare, so it’s not worth it.
If I know I have to rush about in the morning I sometimes make overnight oats or some chia seed pudding which I just have to get straight out the fridge and add fruit too, saves so much time!
Ack I’ve been out of grapes for weeks now and Im DYING over here!! Im planning on getting some tonight, but Im pretty sure they wont last long. I am a bottomless pit when it comes to grapes!!
I love grapes and never think to buy them. Isn’t that silly? Just one of those things I forget about until I eat them (or see them).
I don’t usually make breakfast ahead of time, besides the occasional overnight oats, but I definitely plan breakfast ahead of time! I made “socca pancake” the other day (just flour/water/cinnamon) and doused in maple syrup and butter they were pretty tasty
This post makes me want to eat pancakes, like right now. Yummmm.
I find when I’m running low on fruit, it makes me choose bad food choices so I usually try to get to the grocery store before I get too low!
Hiii i’m the biggest dork in the world — b/c when I read the title I got the starwars theme music in my head and started picturing all sorts of shenanigans. wow. And even worse is that I admitted that! =)
love youuu! happy wiaw!!!
Breakfast ahead of time is impressive planning! The only time I do it is if I know I have to be out really early the next day. Most times it’s just a pita bread with pb and banana though, so nothing as exciting as pancakes!
That quinoa salad looks lovely btw
I love it when breakfast is ready for me right away in the morning. I make a batch of pancakes on the weekends sometimes, and I freeze them for the week. I LOVE Chocolate Covered Katie’s Banana Pancakes for One.
haah I love that you said granola finds it. It’s tricky like that!
The only breakfast I make ahead of time is overnight oats, but it’s such a nice feeling to wake up and not have to worry about making anything.
Ok, you have now redeemed yourself! We can be friends again! Haha! I can’t believe I forgot about your easy peasy pancakey (sorry, couldn’t help myself with that one) recipe! And what do you mean feeling weird making pancakes at night?? When’s the last time I had anything BUT breakfast at dinnertime?!? …I seriously can’t answer that and I don’t care!
I too go through granola way too fast. I swear that the one I have now tastes just like a cookie!! I have to say my only overnight breakfast would be a pb&j sandwich or overnight oats.
The first of those is not all that creative, but it works!
I’m so excited for that nut butter!!
I really want to try CCK’s cheesecake sauce. I think it would taste so good on top of a muffin! Muffins are my go to premade breakfast. I just grab one out of the freezer, smother it with a little nut butter, and grab some fruit and/or yogurt for the side!
I am absolutely beyond in love with pancakes…I actually don’t think there is anything better in life right now than pancakes
It’s funny you ask if I ever make breaky ahead of time because I was considering making pancakes TONIGHT for tomorrow’s breakfast!
PS quinoa salad is fantastic!
Mmmm…now you have me craving pancakes, Kate! They look delicious…especially topped with the cheesecake sauce. Yum!
I never really make breakfast ahead of time. I will wake up a few minutes early to eat something good
Those pancakes look brilliant – just going to check them out! And you’re right; dessert is always necessary
And much respeck fot the workout in your newest post – I wouldn’t half finish it!
